I am looking forward to seeing all of your students on Thursday, either in person or via Zoom. I have a few administrative matters to address.
First of all, CCS is looking for tech volunteers for all classes. As you may know, a number of families will not be attending classes, even on the weeks when classes are in person. Therefore, all in person classes will be broadcast via Zoom and CCS needs a volunteer for each class to help facilitate that. Please let me know if you know of anyone who is willing to assist with that role for one or both Logic sections.
Second, I know of at least one student who is planning on attending all classes virtually. Please let me know if anyone else is planning on attending that way.
Third, for next week, September 24, 2020, Logic class (both sections) will be live at 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. I will then post a recording of the class along with the slides online in Google Classroom. Your student is welcome to either attend the live class (which I would recommend) or watch the recording. The Zoom link for the live class is as follows: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86893736431?pwd=QlpCUXlFN2ZxQkdqSjBxWUI4dnhrQT09
Meeting ID: 868 9373 6431 Passcode: 127465
This will be the process and link for all of the off-site, not in-person classes, at least for the first several weeks until we see how it works. If your student wishes to attend the live class on the "off site" weeks, please have them present in the Zoom room at least 5 minutes ahead of time consistent with CCS's virtual class protocols. Otherwise, they will need to download and watch the lesson on their own.
I realize this change of time on the off-site classes may not be ideal for some of you, but when the grammar school classes were canceled, it put my family and my wife specifically in a bit of a bind. By scheduling the off-site classes at an earlier time, I can watch my children for the rest of the morning while my wife has to work.
Finally, this year, this system, and COVID are all new to all of us. I would ask that everyone show grace and patience as we work through this together.
